A military humor website
Averaging several thousand unique visitors a month, OutOfRegs.com was a military humor website that I ran from 2010 to 2017.
Technologies used
The website was cloud hosted and was made using PHP, MySQL, HTML and CSS. It also had an active forum that used phpBB, and utilized the forum’s api to allow registered users to submit content on the main site.
Integrations
In addition to hosted images, the website also used YouTube to host video content, and at one point the YouTube channel had several thousand subscribers with millions of video views. The website also used the Facebook comments API to allow users to comment on posts without registering for the site.
Profitability
The website required minimum upkeep, and at it’s peek generated over $1k of ad revenue per month using Google Ads.
